Disney's latest feature-length animated movie, "Strange World," is now available to watch at home. You can stream the film on Disney Plus or via digital retailers like Amazon and Vudu.

"Strange World" is an animated adventure movie about a family of explorers as they journey to a new land. As they traverse the wondrous but dangerous world, they must learn how to work through their differences. The film stars the vocal talents of Jake Gyllenhaal, Dennis Quaid, Jaboukie Young-White, Gabrielle Union, and Lucy Liu.

"Strange World" is directed by Don Hall and written by Qui Nguyen. The pair previously worked together on "Raya and the Last Dragon."

Though "Strange World" received mostly positive reviews, the movie failed to find an audience when it premiered in theaters on November 23. The film's early streaming release now gives viewers a chance to check it out from the comfort of their living rooms. 

How to watch 'Strange World' on Disney Plus

"Strange World" is now available to watch at home on Disney Plus. The movie made its streaming debut on December 23, and all members can watch the movie as part of their subscription.

Disney Plus costs $8/month with ads or $11/month for ad-free streaming. The service is also available as part of a discounted bundle with Hulu and ESPN+. The ad-supported bundle costs $13/month, while the ad-free package is $20/month.

You can access the Disney Plus app on smart TVs, streaming players, and mobile devices from most major brands. With that said, the ad-supported plan is not currently available on Roku products. 

Can you watch 'Strange World' without Disney Plus?

If you don't want to sign up for Disney Plus, you also have the option to watch "Strange World" through a digital retailer like Amazon, Vudu, and Google Play. This method requires a one-time free of $20 to buy the movie in up to 4K quality.

Once you buy the film, you can stream it whenever you like with restrictions. If you don't mind waiting, a cheaper rental option is also expected to be available by February 14, which is when the movie hits Blu-ray. New releases typically cost around $7 to rent. 

Is 'Strange World' worth watching?

As of December 23, "Strange World" has a "73% Fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 150 reviews. Critics praise the film's impressive visuals and its advancements for LGBTQ representation in Disney animation, but some reviewers say the story is a bit generic.
